Brief Exhortation: No Free Will versus Determinism Argument

God blesses with an amazing word this morning. My brothers and sisters in Christ, there is no free will versus determinism argument. The debate has been brewing for some time now: How can we have free will, if God is in control and outcomes are predetermined? The Answer: Because God is in control.

            The Word of God clarifies that there are different “ways” we can take in life. Proverbs 14:12 states, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”. In John 16:14, Jesus says “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus makes a clear comparison of different passages in life, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The Lord God sets a path for us to follow, but there are many other paths in life that we can follow. However, those “other” paths lead to death and destruction. It is for this reason, Christians must follow Jesus – the way, the truth and the life. God sent us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that we may be delivered from death and Hell. Jesus is that ONLY way for all of mankind to get to Heaven (i.e., life eternal). Individuals must choose Jesus to obtain eternal life.

            Fortunate for mankind, God is merciful. Since it is not just to create a flawed mankind, then judge flawed mankind for not being perfect. God sent us Jesus, as the only way of redemption from His eternal judgement. Jesus saves and set men free from death and destruction. God has designed ALL “things” – objective and subjective alike (i.e., the Earth, the sun, mankind, our behaviors, our systems, our thoughts, everything). Therefore, when we fail to choose (through our free own will) the path He created for us – i.e., Jesus – our perfect God in righteous judgement can justly punish us for disobedience, or rejecting His salvation by Jesus Christ. Sinners, or the disobedient, are sent to death and Hell for all eternity. Therefore, while God created all things indeed, He allows us to freely choose from our hearts His only path of redemption that is Jesus Christ our Lord. To God be the honor and glory and praise forevermore. Amen.

A Prayer for Studying the Word of God

“Father God, thank You so much for Your holy Word. We love Your Word, as Your Word gives us life. Thank You for Your Word in the flesh, which is Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank you Lord that Jesus died for us that we may have eternal life with You in Heaven. Thank you Lord. Help us Father to study Your holy Word every day that we may continually live pleasing before You every day, growing in Your grace and Light every day. Help us to follow Jesus, Father, every day that we will obtain eternal life one day. Help us Father to always acknowledge You in all our ways, that You will continually direct our paths Lord. Thank You for loving us so much Father, that You sent us guidance for everyday through Your Holy Word and Jesus Christ. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.”

*** Prayer Request - Please pray for Jim

On June 28^th, 2016, Christian Women’s Central received a prayer request from Cheryl. Cheryl’s cousins, Linda and Jim, are visiting Middletown from South Carolina. However, on June 28^th, Jim fell, hitting his head and suffering critical brain injury. Doctors have offered no hope for Jim, but we serve a very powerful and faithful God. Please pray with Christian Women’s Central for Jim, that in Jesus name Jim will sustain his health and be fully delivered. We know that with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27). Amen

A Prayer to Stay Focused on God Always

“Father God, thank you for allowing us to stay focused on you throughout our busy day. We know that if we acknowledge you in all our ways, you will direct our paths. We really do need your guidance, so we must focus on you and trust you always. Help us Lord to remove any distractions, obstacles or hindrances from our lives, so that we may keep our eyes stayed on you. As our times are in your hands, we could never be too busy for you Lord God. If we stay focused on you Lord, you will take care of everything for us – our families, our jobs, our homes, our lives, our relationship with you and everything else. Understanding the Times

In May’s publication of the Fortress Newsletter, we read of Dr. Eric Walsh’s (an acclaimed physician) surprising termination from Georgia’s Department of Public Health (DPH) simply for discussing topics of evolution and homosexuality during his church sermon.  Most disturbing about the news report is that the DPH justified the termination with no evidence of Walsh’s “inability to perform” the duties of his job.  Walsh was fired specifically for his personal religious beliefs, which had no measurable impact on the community he served. Walsh’s firing conspicuously violated his 1^st Amendment right of the US Constitution. Furthermore, it must be noted that the attack against Dr. Walsh was based on the results of improper and undisclosed investigations. Someone pursued Dr. Walsh without cause and without his knowledge.

Hopefully, Christians worldwide will perceive the harsh tactics used to pursue and destroy the well-being of one Christian man. It is unclear how many similar attacks are or will be launched within the US and other countries every day.  These types of crafty and subtle attacks mirror and manifest the works of Satan and his host. While Dr. Walsh currently endeavors to sue Georgia’s DPH, it is unlikely that he will get his former highly-competitive job (or reputation) back at all.

Helping You in Three Simple Steps

In accordance with its mission statement, Christian Women’s Central provides three categories of services:

1: Humanitarian Relief Services to get women and families safe after encountering an emergency, traumatic or crisis situation.

2: Therapeutic Counseling Services to comfort and stabilize women and their families after encountering an emergency, traumatic or crisis situation.

3: Support Services to help women and their families fully recover and return to normal day-to-day Christian living.

While women and their families may not require all three categories of CWC’s ministry services at any given time and for each specific situation, any of the thirty-two (32) services are available to assist during normal hours of operations. Christian women and their families should always seek help when necessary and especially when dangers or losses are foreseen. CWC has ample resources to make referrals as well. Today, Christians worldwide are encouraged to keep the faith. Don’t waver. Don’t doubt. Don’t compromise. Stand for righteousness and holiness always. Trust God.

From news of death and destruction worldwide to global safety and security concerns, our present times may seem dismal. Christians may be tempted by the enemy with feelings of dread or despair. However, James 1:6 instructs, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering . For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” When faced with uncertainty, it may seem logical or safe to give in to surrounding temptations and go along with the crowd. Some Christians may even perceive righteousness by what “so many other Christians are doing”. Please be careful my brothers and sisters in Christ. These thoughts are deceptive. While we may love and admire other brethren in the Church body of Christ, God gave us His holy Word through Jesus Christ that we may each follow faithfully, trusting God for the help we need. We each must study to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). God will answer us or judge us individually.

While the faithful disciples of the early Church likewise suffered persecution for keeping the faith in their time, modern-day Christians must likewise keep the faith today. Every person must be tried before God, but only those who live holy will see Him in the end (Hebrews 14:12).

The Power of Singing Songs of Praise

Singing songs of praise is a great way to overcome the works of the enemy. Colossians 3:16 instructs to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in all psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord.” Christians should sing songs aloud and from their hearts, glorifying God and singing His praise always. David indicated “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory”. So today, take a moment to turn up stereo and sing aloud with manifold praises to our Father and our God.

Once your completed application is received by CWC, you will receive a response regarding membership in a few business days. If accepted by CWC, you can stop by the regional office to pick up your Welcome Package. A few days later, you will receive your formal CWC ID Card. Once you have received your ID Card, you are officially a CWC member. Congratulations! Begin enjoying the thirty (30) plus services offered by CWC. Tract Distribution

On April 14^th, 2016, CWC enjoyed an afternoon of tract distribution activities in Middletown, NY. Tract distribution is such an effective way to spread the great news of Jesus Christ our Lord. Sometimes simply placing a tract in the hand of a passerby or greeting someone in the Lord with a smile is all it takes to bring a soul to Christ. Add your Prayer Request!

“The effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous avails” (James 5:16). CWC always welcomes your prayer requests. Every month, CWC holds a Corporate Day of Prayer and Fasting for anyone willing to pray and fast with us. As an essential part of sound doctrine of the Christian faith, praying with our “armor” on is the act of defensive spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:14-18). Praying puts our armor to good use against a pursuant enemy. As Christians in this life, we cannot pray enough. We must pray every day, as there is so much to pray for (i.e., family, friends, healing and protection, provisions, etc.). 1 Thessalonians 5:17 instructs us to “pray without ceasing”. Please submit (email) your prayer requests to Christian Women’s Central. God hears and answers prayer.

Online CWC Course: "The Women of the Gospels"

In May 2016, CWC is offering the online course, “The Women of the Gospels”. The purpose of the course is to examine and embrace (learn and apply) the characteristics and qualities of virtuous women identified throughout the Bible Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The online course runs for four (4) weeks from Tuesday 5/3/2016 to Tuesday 5/30/2016. Applicable materials for the course (i.e., syllabus, books, supplies, handouts, etc.) will be delivered by courier service. Content throughout the course is posted online, while submissions are emailed. Correspond with the instructor by phone or email. Visiting the sick and elderly is an enjoyable and important part of CWC’s ministry outreach services. Oftentimes, the enemy’s attack against the sick and elderly is devastating, as many experience overwhelming loneliness, fear, pain, stress and sadness. Visiting the sick and elderly provides lasting joy, comfort and encouragement in life’s journey, while ministering of God’s love to anyone willing to hear. Please join us visiting the sick and elderly, where singing, prayer, scripture and words of encouragement are performed at each visit. To submit names of sick and elderly men, women or children seeking or needing visitation, please email ministry@cwcsisters.org or therapeutic-counseling@cwcsisters.org. You will be contacted by CWC to arrange the visitation.

Changes to the CWC Referral Earnings Program (REP)

We are thrilled to announce enhancements to the CWC Referral Earnings Program. Christian Women’s Central offers members the opportunity to earn supplemental, alternative or additional income for their families every month by simply referring new members. Participating members in the program will now be paid by CWC in three (3) tiers, earning from $5.00 to $25.00 for each newly referred member. Earnings from participation in the program is paid out once at the end of the each month by check. (Taxes are not deducted by CWC from payments.) Participating members can refer family members, friends, neighbors, church members and clergy, colleagues, classmates and professors, government employees, network associates, etc. Find out more about the REP program at www.cwcsisters.org.
